The food was very good and service was excellent. However, the staff dress attire was too casual. We will definitely return.

Spent $73 for two people and one child; told them I was allergic to shrimp, ordered the fried crab claws (they were very tasty.... broke out in hives 45 minutes later b/c they fried the claws with shrimp; the eggplant delmonico sucked; the service sucked (even though only two tables were occupied, us and another man; the pasta was cold, the salad was good; all in all, should have gone somewhere else; won't give them a second chance to ruin my dining experience. |

Trapani's was always a treat for us traveling from Hattiesburg to the coast. Today, we waited in the lobby for 10 minutes before we were seated (there were only 4 guests in the restaurant at the time.) Our waitress took our order and 20 minutes later our food was delivered -- the entree that is -- she had totally forgotten the salads which were also requested. We requested additional salad dressing - but this was not brought until the check arrived.
The food was tasteless; salads were iceburg 'chunks' with mediocre "house made" dressing. The entrees were tasteless and instead of sauteed veal - my husband received fryed veal. The squash which was described as tasty -- tasted as though they scooped it off of an all day buffet -- one which had been sitting for hours before. My eggplant delmonico -- definitely was cripsy -- oh yes, nearly to the blackened state of crispy -- shrimp were tiny and parmesan was not present in taste.
This meal was definitely not worth the $50 we paid (without any alcohol.) This will be the last time for us. So sad -- so enjoyed this restaurant when it was on the water front -- now it seems as though the owners had ignored it and have allowed immature teenagers to wait the tables (and may I add the music (which could only be enjoyed by high school students) was played so loud it was impossible to hear each other talk.
In other words, find another place to spend your money and your time.
PS -- Do not depend on the website -- it is a 2003 date -- they are NOT on the coastline as noted on the Internet -- but off the highway -- funny they don't even pay attention to their main source of information.
