They’ve been operating 15th years, it’s quite apparent that the owners of Ye Olde Buffalo tavern are doing everything right. They have a very good convenient location that also allows for stunning views of sea from their veranda in the front, take a few steps one way and it leads you right into the heart of the downtown Hua Hin, while the other direction leads you into the bustling fisherman’s wharf district. Ye Olde Buffalo Tavern isn’t just a place for perfectly made English and Thai and Euro food; they also have beautifully furnished luxury suites available, each with breathtaking sea and mountain views. Upon first entering Ye Olde Buffalo tavern (more commonly referred to as Buffalo Bill’s, after the owner, Bill), what struck me most was how much it resembled a tavern back home. The seating is spacious and comfortable and the décor is true to what a proper tavern ought to be. After taking a closer look, I couldn’t help but notice how impeccably clean every surface is. In addition to the full-bar and menu, Buffalo Bill’s also has free Wi-Fi throughout and a massive book library. Bill and Lorraine (the owners) couldn’t be more helpful they have two young children, Harry and Georgia, who are not only as polite and friendly as their parents, but can also be of great help if you need assistance with the Thai language and the staff are friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. Buffalo Bill’s has a large menu with a wide selection of English, Thai and European favorites available from English breakfast pork knuckle, Sunday Roasts (which are also available Monday through Saturday) fish & chips and the best garlic bread I’ve ever had with everything in between; each meal is prepared with the best ingredients available, in a portion that can fill even the hungriest of us, all at very reasonable prices. Whilst we were there, there were two tables of Thai people eating to me that tells the story, they don’t think of Buffalo Bill’s as a ‘foreign restaurant' but after 15 years part it's part of old Hua Hin. P.s. you must try the bread & butter pudding. PP.s. check out the luxury suites on the top floors. One last thing, Bill also mentioned that he caters for weddings, christenings, Bar mitzvahs, funerals and hangings. Ye Olde Buffalo tavern is on the corner of Chomsin Road (Soi 55) and Naresdamri Road, across the street from the fishing pier. Tel: 0852-918-685 032-530087 Gary Baxter

I stumbled across this place at the end of the fishing pier on my first trip to HuaHin with my fiancee. I was welcomed by the very pleasant landlord and lady, enjoyed the wide selection of drinks on offer before eating. Now i have eaten all over the world and obviously eaten a lot of english food, and this is better than the top restaurants around huahin and better than any english food i have eaten anywhere in the world (including england) and very reasonably priced. The first evening i ate there i had the prwan cocktail to start which was made with fresh tiger prawns and was to die for, followed by a perfectly cooked burger with homemade french fries. Because myself and my fiancee where so happy, we continued to eat there for the rest of our stay in Thailand. I ate the fish and chips which are fabulous (dont know how someone could have complained about these in a previous review), plus we ate food from the vast thai menu available, which is better than what the thai restaurants fed us with!! We ate english breakfast there everyday (which puts my local cafe in england to shame) and enjoyed the wonderful selection of bar snacks available (which are more like starters/mains) and nothing was expensive, infact very cheap. After a couple of days the top floor luxury guestrooms were available and upon inspection i was delighted they could squeeze me in there for a few days. Now these are better than the suites in the hilton hotel - and at a fraction of the price. For what you pay a fairly standard hotel in Thailand you get a luxury suite with all the modcons, beautifully decorated, along with a terrace with sun loungers and table and chairs, overlooking the sea which is a stones throw away - truly breathtaking! Overall i would reccommend this establishment to anybody travelling to HuaHin, it is fantastic value for money, with all the drinks and food you could ever want to eat, has exquisite guest rooms available AND the owners (Bill and Lauraine) are wonderful hosts and were happy to tell me all the best things to do in and around huahin, and even a couple of the other top restaurants to goto! I would like to thank them for making our time in Thailand truly fabulous! Thanks for reading my novel. Alex and Kat Alex and Kat
