I was just reading the reviews from others. We had Sunday brunch at the Hitching Post this past Sunday. I thought the variety and quality, as well as the price was good.I was told the son of the old Hitching Post operates this restaurant. I did not expect what the old restaurant looked like, after all this is brand new and very lovely. Remember prices of food has risen so restaurants must raise their prices, also. I will return for a lunch or dinner in the future, as well as the brunch. If I lived closer I would go there often. |

Clearly a disaster of an operation. Very unorganized, clearly a place that will not last long. We waited forever for a table, even though they were not busy. When we finally got our order it was incorrect, we did not want to wait any longer than we already had. Our beverages also took a very long time, and we observed a lot of socialization with the staff as we waited for our drinks- disappointing. The owner did come by our table but we were too embarrased for him to even comment on our experience. It is over priced and not worth the visit. (mind you this was our 2nd poor experience) The first was not anymore pleasant. You can find better service, food, location and quality from Austin's as they are reputable and have been doing a great job for a long time. Needless to say we will NEVER go back to the poorly managed HITCHING POST. |

Have had a couple of bad experiences and never do they comp. Anything. You have to tell them that , hey you screwed up my whole order aim not paying for that. You should not have to say that, they should. |

Lovely Brunch this Sunday. We have been here for lunch and dinner and we decided to try the breakfast buffet. Everything was wonderful as always. |

we have been to the hitching post now for lunch and dinner. overall, we are very impressed with the whole place. Very friendly, and the food is great. We tried the new lunch menu, and it was fabulous. |

wow...great place! cant believe the size of the portions and quality of food. We highly recommend the calamari, we never had anything like it! Also, the Short Ribs were fantastic. Finally, a great normal place to go around here with a cozy atmosphere. The beer selection is amazing, and the service is friendly and fun. Great bar scene too (we had some after dinner drinks at the bar...very classy and comfortable) Overall, we had a great time at the Hitching Post. We look forward to returning soon. |

My parents, brother, family and I made the unfortunate mistake of having Sunday afternoon dinner at the Hitching Post. My parents had been frequent diners at the old Hitching Post. Sadly, this was a horrible dining experience! The worst service anyone in my family has h ad anywhere in years. No one, including our server or any of the other idle and apparently bored staff (though the idle female receptionist did seem preoccupied in a personal conversation with an idle male server) were willing to refill water glasses or bring bread. Even the manager seemed ambivalent and diffident. It took more than an hour for our meal to arrive, and then some of the entrees were in error, and so we had to wait again. No one should have to firmly demand water refills and basic service. Food was overpriced and of disparate quality. Definitely not worth the poor service, wait and frustration. We all were of one mind by determining that we would never eat here again. |

There is something for everyone's appetite at the new Hitching Post. The food is top notch and well-prepared. The service is excellent. It's a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where the owner and manager always stop by to make sure everything is to your liking. I would highly recommend it! |

This is a nice enough restaurant BUT they billed it as the Hitching Post coming back to Berks County. It is nothing like the old Hitching Post. I was very disappointed because I went there expecting as advertised the old Hitching Post. The menu was very limited and very expensive. The decor was very nice but had that "steakhouse fine restaurant atmosphere", not family friendly. We could use the old Hitching Post in Berks Co. again there is nothing like it anymore. I wish they would have opened the Hitching Post again that was one of the best restaurants in the area, it wasn't a diner it was a big step above a diner. It wasn't fancy but it was very nice. You could go there for breakfast, lunch, dinner, a special occasion, a wedding reception, a private function it was perfect for every occasion, serving excellent food and nice prices. |
